The Amazing Luminous Lagoon Night Boat Ride In Falmouth
You could not be more amazed than having the experience of swimming in water that actually glows an almost eerie blue. Well, if seeing is believing this one is definitely one you have to see. The
water's face is almost black but the magic happens when you get in the water and agitate it. Tje more movement that occurs the greater and brighter the colors. Even the fish actually reflect light when they swim. So I will say no more as this is a must see for all nature lovers.
The Science Behind The Bioluminescent Lagoon
In a nutshell, there are microorganisms called dinoflagellates that live in the  water and emit this light while you swim. Dinoflagellates particularly enjoy the brackish water created by the Martha Brae River and the Caribbean Sea. If you have ever seen a firefly then you have seen the bioluminescent process at work.
NO DIVING ALLOWED in the Luminous Lagoon as the water is only about 4 feet deep.
